Maybe you could play against FK Omladinac, or FK Napredak, they are 'proffesional' teams, but they are not very good, in my own opinion.

For drinking match...
well, maybe this forum could make one team of eleven players, it'll be easy ;)

1st squad
Veliki, Pero bombas, Shekara, Vuk Samotnjak,... ( ajmo cugeri skupite se, ja mogu kao rezerva, ili ako zafali :) )

Well, we're not exactly the Real Madrid of the amateur game. :))) Omladinac and Napredak are 2nd League of RS, no? :)

Tee-hee-hee... Are you being serious? :)
Is it our little website that makes us look half-decent or something? :)

Hmmm... It's not easy to judge the standard. The Polish team that we played was from Polish Division 7 and we destroyed them; however, I am slightly concerned about the state we might be in by the time we reach Banja Luka, because you see we're planning a route along the lines of Split-Mostar-Sarajevo-Banja Luka-Zagreb (flying to/from Croatia as you can get cheap flights to/from London there). On this route, beside football we plan to "look around, eat, drink, move it-move it, etc." We've got an offer to play against a Croatian Division 5 side in Split - First League of Split-Dalmatia County. I think we can do OK, because we'll be playing virtually immediately after our arrival, before we spend a week wrecking out health. :) A week later, in Banja Luka, we could be a slightly different proposition. :)

Now, I see that the Bosnian League System works like this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bosnian_fo ... gue_system

Maybe, we should be aiming more for Regional league Banja Luka or Intermunicipality league Banja Luka, rather than 2nd league. :)

Now, I found a list of football clubs in Banja Luka:
http://www.banjaluka.rs.ba//_c/sport/Pr ... _Grada.pdf

Anyone got any idea which divisions these play in?

Clubs from 1st Bosnian league are not so good as it seems. Our league looks like this: Premier League of Bosnia, than lower leagues are:
a) 1st league of Federation of Bosnia & Herzegovina and
b) 1st league of Republic of Srpska

After that, there are 2nd leagues of those two, which are separated on four regionals leagues (north, south, west, east).

Now U can imagine where is Omladninac. That`s like... nowhere, little better than amateurs. :) :D

Yeah, but again there are different levels of amateur sides. You see, on the Continent, as far as I understand, most amateurs who play football, do so teams who play in a fairly recognisable league pyramid, so you can trace that in the overall scheme of things you are, say, division 5-6-7. So, we could tell that the Polish team we played was level 7. In the winter, for example, I organised a football match for Liverpool fans in Barcelona and the team we played was Spanish level 9 (the team Liverpool fans had never played together before but we gave the Catalans a good game and ChChFCOBTC would've beaten them).

In England there is a variety of leagues (and, of couse, a larger football-playing population) - 4 top divisions (and even most of the 5th) are professional, then the "tree" begins to grow and becomes regionalised and it's fairly serious for another, say, 5-6 levels. Then, roughly speaking, you arrive in the town-based Saturday and Sunday leagues. The top 2-3 of these divisions are of a good competitive standard (and there are some very good players in these leagues - those who just want to play football when it suits them and not over-the-top seriously) but it is quite hard for me to say how these amateur leagues would compare to the ones in, say, Republika Srpska (and population is a big factor - say, we play in the Saturday league that covers most of London - but the population of London is 10 million, whereas the whole population of Republika Srpska is 1,5 million, no?)

So, how does our team work? On Saturdays and Sundays we play in these amateur leagues but for these international tours we re-unite into ChChFCOBTC. We know how to play with each other as we played a lot of games together when we were at university plus we've got our Christ Church patriotism that unites us.

BUT... I do not know how we might get on against semi-professionals. That's a slightly different level. For example, do Omladinac get paid for playing? How many times a week do you think they train? Also, where do FK Napredak play? I can't seem to be able to find them anywhere?

Oh, I tried!:) A few days ago, I started a thread (similar to the one here). The thread was removed by the moderators after a day (no replies). I sent one of them a message - "Why?" No Reply. Then I started another thread - "Why did you take my initial thread down?" It was taken down within half an hour! So, I went to find a more responsive and friendly forum. Any idea which part of my thread Lesinari would've found particularly offensive? :)

OK, chaps, so does anyone have any contact details for or know anyone at the following football clubs?

http://www.banjaluka.rs.ba//_c/sport/Pr ... _Grada.pdf

I understand some of them play at, like, Banja Luka and regional league levels, so I think they will be decent opposition for us.

Try to call ++387511185 ,thats where you can get telephone numbers of that clubs. 051 is code for Banjaluka, 1185 or 1186 is telephone numbers info. Ask club that you want, but i suppose that it will be a big lottery finding someone that knows English in that clubs.

Thank you for the number but do you perhaps have an e-mail address for such a purpose (not really sure how I'd get on without Serbian on the phone)?

Aha, thank you for the numbers.
Hmmm... I think it would probably be useful for me to get in touch with the Banja Luka Football Association as they can then perhaps pass on our request to, level 4/5/6 clubs to see if anyone is up for a game.

I would advice you to try to get in contact with some guys from University of Banja Luka (if you like to play with them) There, you can find someone that is able to speak in english and most probably help you, guys on this forum can not help you, if you ask them to give a comment, then you are on the best site, all of them will know that but to organize something .....

Good idea, actually.
Do they have, like a student forum or anything like that?
I've just done a bit of googling and found this site:
