I wish to provoke readers to "think a second time" about matters we may have taken for granted, and to prod us to care more about spiritual, moral (ethical) behavior than we do about pretty much anything else.
Religion is based on thinking. Spirituality does not address those who do not think. The signs of God are revealed to those who use their brains to reflect, ponder, analyze and contemplate, which are all characteristics mentioned in the scripture as a prerequisite of a believer. Those who cancel their intellect or relegate their thought process to others are reduced to be like animals or even worse. It is in the absence of thinking that people can be misled, blinded by emotions, brain washed, tunnel-visioned and deprived of wisdom.
Religion is a call to life and success, not a call to death and despair.
The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is
marred by devotion to humanity, valiantly, who errs and
comes up short again and again, because there is no effort without
error or shortcoming, but who knows the great enthusiasms, the great
devotion to help destitute human being, who spends himself for a worthy cause; who, at the best, knows, in the end, the triumph of high achievement, and who, at the worst, if he
fails, at least he fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall
never be with those cold, timid and passive souls.
The companion before the road, and the road before the destination. But without the destination there is no road, and without the sublime road there is no companion.
