Thurston Moore - Trees Outside the Academy [2007]

Thurston Moore has announced his new solo album, Trees Outside The Academy, to be released on his label Ecstatic Peace this September. Thurston’s first solo outing since 1995’s Psychic Hearts, Trees Outside The Academy is a 12 song affair with Thurston primarily recorded on acoustic guitar and bass, laying down the core of the tunes with SY drummer Steve Shelley and violinist Samara Lubelski.
Recorded with producer John Agnello, the pair holed up in J. Mascis’ (Dinosaur Jr.) Bisquiteen studio in Amherst, MA with Mascis close at hand (downstairs) to provide guitar solos when called for.
